Same store. New name.
We've been getting appliances and furniture into NWI homes since 2002. The name is new — everything else is exactly what it's been.
Why we changed the name
For years this business went by three different names depending on where you found it — Second Chance Furniture, Second Chance Appliance & Discount Furniture, Second Chance Appliance & Mattress. Customers looking for us found three businesses and weren’t sure which one was real.
So we picked one name that says what we do and where we do it: NWI Appliance & Furniture Outlet. Same owners, same store on Central Ave, same 313 reviews, same people behind the counter.
We started in Gary in 2002 and moved to Lake Station to get more floor space. If you bought from us at the old Melton Road store, you’re in the right place — we’re just up the road now.
Most of what we sell is new or scratch & dent — brand-new appliances with a ding somewhere you’ll never see, at a price that reflects the ding and nothing else. The rest is refurbished stock we test before it goes on the floor, and furniture we order in for you.
We sell to people who need a working refrigerator this week, not next quarter. That’s why we do lease-to-own, why we deliver locally, and why we’ll tell you when the cheaper option is the right one.
